The C6700 was LPL's economy 6x7 color enlarger, a step below the pro 7700. LPL's own catalog sold it as a basic machine a class above other economy models, with a thick column and a big balancer that made the head light to move. LPL had been selling color enlargers since the 67 in 1977, and by 2001 the 6700 family came three ways: the C6700 dichroic, the VC6700 variable contrast and the 6600 condenser for 6x6. A long-column C6700L made bigger prints, up to 14x17 in from 35mm. KHB Photografix, LPL's Canadian distributor, says the C6700 sold in the US as the Omega/LPL D6700, and its parts lists name Saunders/LPL 6700s too. North American units run an 85W 82V halogen lamp. Elsewhere it's a 100W 12V lamp with an external supply, and in Japan a 100V 150W lamp. It takes the same glassless carriers as the 7700, which helps if you move up later. KHB now lists the enlarger itself as discontinued.

Light, carriers, bellows and lens
Light source and lamp
It's a dichroic Y, M and C head in a diffusion lamphouse. North American units take an 85W 82V quartz-halogen lamp, units sold elsewhere a 100W 12V lamp with an external supply, and Japanese ones a 100V 150W lamp. KHB still lists LPL's 85W 82V lamp, but it was out of stock when we checked in October 2026, so ask for a photo with the lamp lit.
Carriers and condensers
It takes LPL's glassless carriers for 35mm, 6x4.5, 6x6 and 6x7, the same ones the 7700 series uses, plus the universal glass carrier. A 35mm carrier came in the box new. There are no condensers, so the carrier is the only part you swap between formats.
Column and bellows
The column is a thick single post with a counterbalanced press-to-lift, release-to-lock carriage, and it turns around for floor projection. Ask whether the head stays at height when let go at mid-column. KHB still lists a replacement counterbalance spring for the 6600 and 6700.
Lens
The lensboard is built in with a 39mm Leica thread, so any 39mm-thread enlarging lens fits. LPL sold its own 50mm, 75mm and 80mm lenses, but none came in the standard kit, so check the listing for one.
Timer and power
Ask whether it's an 82V North American unit, a 12V unit or a 100V Japanese one. KHB says the 12V version needs an external power supply, so make sure that's in the box if it applies. Run it through your own enlarging timer.
Shipping and pickup
LPL lists the C6700 at 9 kg and the C6700L at 10 kg, and KHB's replacement 45x45 cm baseboard ships at 4.5 kg on its own. It's light enough for a parcel service if the head is boxed apart from the column.
Should come with it
Dichroic head with its lamp
A 35mm carrier, standard in the box
6x6 or 6x7 carriers if you shoot medium format
Baseboard and column
The external power supply on 12V units
Hard to find if missing
The 85W 82V North American lamp when KHB is out of stock
The external power supply for 12V units
110 and 126 carriers
Check the listing photos against these lists, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing carrier, condenser or lens board should come off the price.
What to check
KHB's parts list for the 6600 and 6700 is short: a counterbalance spring, the baseboard, carriers and lamps. The lamp is the part to ask about, since the 85W 82V North American lamp was out of stock at KHB when we checked.
01Head: Check the head in the photos for three filter dials. A single contrast control means it's the VC6700 instead.
02Lamp: Ask for a photo with the lamp lit and the dials at zero. You want bright, even light and the lamp type named.
03Voltage: Ask whether it's an 82V, 12V or 100V Japanese unit. A 12V unit needs its external power supply in the box.
04Carriers: Count the carriers in the photos. The 35mm carrier should be there, plus 6x6 or 6x7 if you need them.
05Counterbalance: Ask whether the head stays put when let go at mid-height. A carriage that doesn't creep means the spring is fine.
06Lens: Check the listing for a lens on the 39mm board. Any 39mm-thread 50mm or 80mm enlarging lens will fit.
07Column length: Check the model label or column length for C6700 or C6700L. The L has the 92 cm column for bigger prints.
We'd buy the Saunders LPL D6700 at $385 titled very clean and tested, with a negative carrier and a lens, though no shipping is quoted. The cheapest is $275 with free shipping, titled with a carrier and baseboard, but the photo shows it partly taken apart. With at least 4 for sale and only 2 quoting shipping, the $400–675 delivered band isn't a market read, and the $1,195 complete outfit is a dealer ask. All four carry the Saunders badge, one of the names LPL's C6700 sold under in the US, alongside the Omega/LPL D6700. Ask whether it's an 82V North American unit, since its 85W 82V lamp was out of stock at KHB when we checked, and for a photo with the lamp lit and the three filter dials showing.

The lowest price here, $275 with free shipping from a 100% seller, titled with a negative carrier and baseboard. The photo shows the head off the column, so ask for photos of it assembled and lit, and whether it's an 82V unit or a 12V one that needs its external power supply.
Titled very clean and tested, with a negative carrier and a lens, at $385 from a 100% seller, under the band. No shipping is quoted, so get a quote, and ask which lens and carrier are included.
The only one titled tested, and the photo shows it assembled on its baseboard with the three-dial color head. Ask for a photo with the lamp lit and the dials at zero, since the 82V lamp is the part that's hard to replace.
